Germany
EU Blue Card: university degree (Anabin H+) and salary from €50,700 (2026), shortage occupations and early-career €45,900; IT specialists without a degree with 3 years' experience. Skilled workers § 18a/18b: recognised qualification, employment contract, Federal Employment Agency approval. Chancenkarte § 20a: points system (degree, German, English, experience, age), funds €1,091/month, 1 year of job search with trial work. Western Balkans rule for Albania, Bosnia, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia without qualification (quota 50,000). Visa €75, application via the Foreign Office portal, embassy appointment, 4–12 weeks; accelerated procedure § 81a via the employer.
Other EU countries
Poland: type A work permit or employer's declaration, visa D €80, 15–60 days. Czechia: Employee Card, CZK 5,000, 60–90 days. Netherlands: Highly Skilled Migrant from €5,688/month, 2 weeks. Posting and Vander Elst
Construction firms from Poland, Lithuania, Estonia, Romania with contracts in Germany: customs notification before work starts, A1, SOKA-BAU, authorised recipient. Third-country employees of these firms (Ukrainians, Belarusians, Georgians) need the Vander Elst visa from the German embassy in the firm's country (no employment agency approval, 10 days to 4 weeks).
